Dynamic Martial Arts

Kids three to five years old love physical activity and anything involving play. They have a rich imagination and strong desire to be less dependent on their usual caregivers. Many children at this age have a hard time with structure in a group environment, like what is commonly found in most martial arts schools. Ninja Kids Martial Arts® provides these kids with their own program. It targets their stage of development, and adapts to their social and intellectual curiosity. At the same time fine and gross motor skills, focus, attention, and perseverance are further developed.

Developmental Benefits

Physical Development

Activities focusing on gross motor skills as well as fine motor skills are the core of the program for Ninja Kids 3+. Most of the exercises include activities that help Ninja Kids develop balance and coordination.

Social Development

Martial Arts training in general helps participants develop social skills by working together. Ninja Kids Martial Arts helps kids respect each other as well as their instructors. A large part of the training focuses on shared control.

Cognitive Development

Attention, focus and decision making are essential skills that Ninja Kids work on. Every training session includes activities that allow participants to work on problem solving, hand-eye coordination, as well as visual and auditory processing skills.

With the emphasis on physical, cognitive, and social development, Ninja Kids in the group for 3+ work less on Martial Arts and more on global development. Nevertheless, kids are introduced to basic blocks, kicks, punches, and stances. Since these children are quite young, parents are required to stay during the training and often help their own child in performing activities that are challenging for some children. Besides working together in a comforting setting, such also further develops the parent-child relationship.
